Yurt-mare at Glasto: VIP glampers left in the mud after luxury yurt firm collapses
Share On
If you were hoping to be sipping cocktails in a hot tub before dancing your way to Neil Young or Charli XCX at Glastonbury this year… you might want to sit down for this one.
Festival glampers who’d splashed out up to a jaw-dropping £16,500 on luxury yurts and hospitality tickets have been left without tickets, tents, or even a refund – after the high-end accommodation provider Yurtel Limited went bust. Yep, it’s official: the bougie bells have gone silent.
Yurtel, based in Wiltshire and known for serving up ultra-glam festival digs complete with alfresco dining, private showers and even golf buggies to ferry guests around Worthy Farm, has gone into liquidation – and hadn’t even bought tickets for any of its customers. Oof.
That means Glasto can’t step in and offer replacements or refunds. The festival has been clear it has “no involvement” with Yurtel’s operations, and no record of who had booked with them. And while Yurtel was one of only a few local campsites with limited access to hospitality tickets, they hadn’t paid for a single one before their dramatic collapse earlier this month.
Some customers – including celebs and corporate bigwigs – are believed to have lost tens of thousands of pounds, with one poor reveller reportedly down £87,000 after booking multiple yurts.

Many only found out through frantic WhatsApp chats and Glasto forums. Others got an email from the company confirming the worst: they wouldn’t be fulfilling any future bookings, and refunds are off the table for now. Anyone affected is being told to wait for liquidation proceedings and register as a creditor to try and reclaim their cash.
It’s a devastating blow for fans who thought they’d secured the ultimate VIP Glasto experience – think champagne on arrival, spa-style loos, and sleeping on a proper mattress instead of rolling into your tent like a drunken burrito. Now? They’ll need to start all over again if they want to make it onto the farm.
The festival has said it’s “disappointing” and is offering to help by sharing alternative routes for customers still desperate to nab a spot – but yes, they’ll need to pay again.
If you’re one of the unlucky ones, the first step is to email Yurtel@btguk.com and give permission for your booking details to be shared with the Glasto team. From there, they’ll try to point you in the direction of other ticket and accommodation options.
Meanwhile, the rest of us are triple-checking our own bookings, dreaming of that moment when The Prodigy tear up the stage or Olivia Rodrigo hits us with a heartbreak anthem under the stars. Let’s just say – whether you’re glamping or camping, it’s worth making sure your spot is the real deal.
Stay safe, Glasto fam. And maybe pack a backup sleeping bag. Just in case.
