Metallica Are Back! M72 World Tour Extends into 2026 with UK and Europe Dates – Here’s Everything You Need to Know
Share On
Metallica fans, brace yourselves — the mighty metal legends are not slowing down. The band has just announced that their record-smashing M72 World Tour is being extended into 2026, with 16 huge shows across the UK and Europe, and yes, they’re finally coming back to Britain.
If you caught them back in 2023 at Download Festival, you know the M72 tour isn’t just a gig — it’s a full-throttle, face-melting experience. And now, after a long UK absence, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and the gang are set to hit Glasgow, Cardiff and London next summer. It’ll be their first time in Cardiff since 1996, so if you’re Welsh and a fan, this is your moment.
The Dates You Need
Here’s where and when Metallica are bringing the noise in the UK:
-
- June 25 – Glasgow, Hampden Park
- June 28 – Cardiff, Principality Stadium
- July 3 & 5 – London, London Stadium (two-night stand!)
Each city will get a No Repeat Weekend (or just night, if you’re in Cardiff) – meaning totally different setlists and support acts across both shows. So yes, it’s absolutely worth going twice.
Support on the UK/Europe leg includes the likes of Gojira, Pantera, Knocked Loose and Avatar – a brutal dream line-up for any metalhead.
Tickets, Presales & Prices
Tickets go on general sale on May 30 at 10am local time via LiveNation.co.uk, but savvy fans will want to jump on the fan presale from May 27 at 11am (you’ll need to be a registered Fifth Member on Metallica’s site to get in). There’s also O2 Priority access on May 28 and Live Nation presale on May 29.
Prices are pretty reasonable (for a stadium show, anyway). In Glasgow, tickets range from £67.50 to £300, with pitch standing at £110. Cardiff general admission standing starts at £125, with various seated and VIP options available.
Speaking of VIP — or rather enhanced experiences — Metallica are offering ultra-exclusive passes like the ‘I Disappear’ ticket, which gets you into every European show for just over £1,350. There are even meet-and-greet packages available, for fans who want the ultimate experience.
European Dates Too!
If you fancy following them beyond the UK, the band’s also hitting Greece, Romania, Poland, Germany, Italy, Hungary and Ireland — including a double-header at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on June 19 & 21.
And yes, a portion of all ticket proceeds goes to Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation, supporting local charities across every stop on the tour.
